Migration and foreigners

This Service manages the following academic-administrative processes: enrollment for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degrees, own degrees, scholarships, issuance of academic certificates, processes of recognition, validation and adaptation of subjects and/or credits; custody of the student's academic record; management and issuance of official university degrees and own degrees; general registration, among others.

For this purpose, the student must apply for credit recognition at the General Secretary's Office at the time of registration. Along with the application, the interested party must provide an academic transcript of grades (original or notarized copy) of the previous studies he/she has completed. You will also have to submit a photocopy of the programs of the subjects you have taken and passed, stamped by the corresponding university (in pdf format are accepted if they are sent by the university of origin).

The university is the oldest institution dedicated to the study of international relations in Japan. It began as the Institute for the Study of Foreign Documents (蛮書調所, Bansho Shirabesho?), a translation bureau of the Tokugawa shogunate established in 1857.

In 1999, the university celebrated both the 126th anniversary of its original founding and the 100th anniversary of its independence. The campus moved to its current location, where students can study in a modern, high-tech environment.

The university has a good position in almost all Japanese academic rankings, despite not being as well known as others. It was ranked 34th, 23rd and 20th out of 181 universities in 2008-2010 in Toyo Keizai's "Really Strong Universities (本当に強い大学)" rankings.[6] The university is ranked in the "Really Strong Universities (本当に強い大学)" by Toyo Keizai.[6
